At The Pillars Youth Theater, we believe every student is uniquely gifted with purpose and creativity. Through auditioned productions and leadership tracks for students ages 13–18, students grow in skill, character, and community.
Each season, we offer:
Four fully realized productions in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Theater Program
Each production holds auditions open to performers ages 13 through 18 or students in 9th-12th grade.
Weekly rehearsals (Wednesdays & Thursdays, 4–6 pm)
Opportunities for student leadership, tech crew, and mentorship
A focus on collaboration, excellence, and storytelling that matters

The Sun Will Rise:
A Concert for Christmas
There is something magical about Christmas Eve.
The excitement has filled the season. Homes are decorated, cookies are baked, gifts are wrapped, and familiar songs fill the air. Families gather, friends laugh, and for a little while, the world seems to slow down.
Then, as evening settles in and the celebrations grow quiet, we remember the story that has been shining beneath it all.
The Sun Will Rise is more than a Christmas concert. It is an immersive evening of music, storytelling, and wonder that invites audiences to experience the joy, nostalgia, and hope of the Christmas season. From beloved holiday classics to timeless carols, the concert unfolds like Christmas Eve itself—beginning with the warmth and excitement of the season before gently leading us toward the light that has inspired generations.
Performed by the students of The Pillars Youth Theater, this production celebrates the beauty of Christmas through music, community, and story. Whether Christmas is a cherished tradition or a season you simply enjoy, we hope you'll leave reminded that even in the longest nights, the promise of dawn remains.

AUDITION INFORMATION.
WHEN: Wednesday, August 19 or Thursday, August 20.
Choose a 15-minute audition time between 4:00–6:00 PM when you register.
WHERE: Auditions, rehearsals, and performances are held at The Seeing Place | 315 Winchester Road, Jacksonville, NC
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: The Pillars Youth Theater is open to students ages 12–18 who love to sing, perform, and tell meaningful stories. No previous theater experience is required. We welcome both returning students and those auditioning with us for the very first time.
Because this production is a concert, students should be able to match pitch while singing. More importantly, we are looking for young people who are eager to learn, encourage one another, and contribute to a rehearsal environment built on respect, kindness, and teamwork.
At The Pillars, we believe great performances begin with great character.
We are looking for students who are willing to work hard, grow as performers, and support one another as an ensemble.
REHEARSALS: If cast, rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays & Thursdays from 4:00–6:00 PM beginning Wednesday, August 26. Performance Dates are
November 6 & 7, 2026. A detailed rehearsal schedule is included in the audition packet.
WHAT TO PREPARE: After registering for auditions, you'll immediately receive an audition packet by email and as a downloadable file.

No memorization is required.
WHAT TO EXPECT: At The Pillars Youth Theater, our goal is more than preparing a performance. We strive to create a place where students can grow as artists, develop confidence, learn the value of collaboration, and discover the power of meaningful storytelling.
Whether this is your first production or your fifteenth, you'll be challenged, encouraged, and invited to become part of an ensemble that values excellence, humility, and serving one another.
